About Australia
There is much to learn about Australia. Endless miles of unspoilt beaches, tropical rainforests, mountain ranges and vast tracts of rural land make Australia a country of contrast.
Australia is a land of the unexpected. Of immense size, amazing natural wealth, awesome scenery and exotic plant and animal life, Australia is the sixth largest country in the world.
It is about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and 50 per cent larger than Europe, but has the lowest population density in the world—only two people per square kilometre.
