Literacy and numeracy support
All campuses of the Agricultural College provide students with access to literacy and numeracy support with instructors delivering both one-on-one and group training to meet individual needs.
Counselling and peer support
The Burdekin, Dalby, Emerald and Longreach campuses provide support for students ranging from a student mentoring program, residential supervisors to assist students after hours, and counselling services.
Orientation
All campuses of the Agricultural College hold an orientation program at the beginning of each academic year to familiarise students with the campus and help them make the transition into college life.
Student associations
Students at each campus have the opportunity to become members of their student association to provide advice to management about matters affecting student life and organise fundraising, social and sporting events.
Job placement assistance
All campuses have strong links with local properties and businesses to provide students with industry placement or work experience opportunities. The campus networks can also assist students to find full-time, part-time and casual employment during the academic year or upon completion of their studies.
Healthcare
There are first-aid officers at all the campuses, and most students and instructors are trained in senior first aid. The major towns near each of the campuses have medical facilities and general practitioners.
Transport
All campuses provide shuttle bus services to enable students to go shopping or participate in recreational activities in the closest town. As the Mareeba campus does not have on-site accommodation, the shuttle bus also provides students with transport from the town of Mareeba to classes on campus.
